Dr. William Sherman, New York State licensed clinical psychologist and Head of Clinical Services at Shrub Oak International School, has worked with children, adolescents, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, for more than 30 years.
He primarily has worked for not-for-profit agencies throughout New York City and the Hudson Valley providing individualized, administrative, and supervisory services, including applied behavior analysis, psychological testing, individual/group psychotherapy, and participation in Humans Rights and Incident Review committees. He has over 19 years’ experience working with children in therapeutic foster boarding homes in the Bronx and in several upstate counties.
Dr. Sherman was responsible for establishing and opening to the public a community-based mental health clinic in Irvington, NY. He is a graduate of Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and has additional training in cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies, trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy, mood and anxiety disorders, and play therapy. He lives with his family in Orange County, NY.
