As a lifelong educator and leader focused on the care of autistic individuals, Benjamin has had progressive teaching, leadership, and administrative positions since joining Shrub Oak in September, 2019. He received two bachelor’s degrees from SUNY Geneseo, and completed a master’s degree in general and special education shortly after beginning his educational journey at Success Academy Charter Schools. There, Benjamin earned a network-wide award for growth in his first year of teaching – an ICT classroom in Harlem – where every student in his class passed both their math and ELA state exams. Benjamin proceeded to achieve a leadership role of grade team lead in only his third year in the classroom before leaving the city to continue his journey at Shrub Oak. He has demonstrated tremendous leadership, administrative, and organizational capabilities, and is passionate about ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of our students. With a growing team of nursing and related professional staff providing medical care for our students, we feel fortunate to have Benjamin at its helm.
