On Friday, August 15, 2025, we gathered together in our auditorium to celebrate a momentous occasion: graduation day at Shrub Oak International School. Hosted by our Director of Education, the ceremony brought our community together to recognize the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our students as they moved forward into their next chapters. The event began with a performance of the “Star-Spangled Banner,” sung beautifully by our music teacher, which set the tone for the day. Following the anthem, our Head of Programs shared heartfelt remarks, reflecting on the progress our students have made throughout the year and the joy of witnessing their growth, resilience, and accomplishments.
Graduation at Shrub Oak International School is not only about completing a year of learning, but also about honoring each milestone. During the ceremony, we celebrated students advancing from elementary to middle school, middle school to high school, and high school and beyond, acknowledging the importance of each step in their educational journey. In addition to the formal recognition, we added a lighthearted touch with fun honors that reflected the unique personalities of our students. Seeing our students proudly don their caps and gowns was incredible, and it was clear how much pride they felt in reaching this milestone. Their excitement was matched by the joy and pride of their families, staff, and peers who cheered them on.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was a video montage featuring pictures and clips from this past school year. The montage captured unforgettable moments of learning, laughter, creativity, and community, reminding us of how much we have experienced together. It was a celebration of both individual achievement and the collective spirit that makes Shrub Oak International School such a special place.
After the formal ceremony, the celebration continued outdoors with a lively BBQ open to all students, families, and staff. Everyone enjoyed delicious food, including an amazing graduation cake that quickly became a favorite centerpiece of the afternoon. The outdoor festivities created a warm and welcoming atmosphere where families, students, and staff could connect, reflect, and celebrate together. A photo booth added to the fun, allowing students and families to capture lasting memories of the day. Outdoor games and music kept the energy high, and to the delight of all, our farm’s beloved mini donkey made a special appearance, bringing smiles and laughter to the graduates and guests alike.
The day was more than a ceremony; it was a true celebration of community, growth, and achievement. Graduation at Shrub Oak International School serves as a reminder of how far our students have come, the goals they have reached, and the meaningful paths that await them. We are proud of every student who crossed the stage and look forward to the continued successes that lie ahead. This year’s graduation was a joyful reminder that when we come together as a community, every milestone becomes an unforgettable celebration.
