Professional:
Nancy is the Assistant Director of Education and has 30 years of experience in special education, in both private and public programs. She began her educational career as an inclusion teacher at Bank Street. She has extensive experience working with students with autism and other developmental disorders. Her various educational leadership roles over the years have included program and curriculum development, staff training and supervision, and parent education. Her most recent role was as a school building leader, at a private school in NYC, for students on the autism spectrum. Nancy’s work has prioritized evidence-based and child-centered best practices. She believes in educating the whole child with a strong focus on the social and emotional needs of students. She enjoys fostering the passions and strengths of students and professionals so they can be their best selves. She also strives for a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach rooted in the philosophy that together we are better.
Personal:
Nancy enjoys spending time with her family (husband and adult son and daughter). Family dinners and movies are long standing traditions in her household. Nancy likes working out and taking dance classes. Being out in nature is a big part of her self-care practice. She will find every opportunity to hike, or be near a natural body of water.
