Academics

Shrub Oak International School offers a variety of programs, including both day and residential options. Students are grouped into cohorts based on their individual profiles, enabling us to develop individualized programs tailored to each student’s unique social, academic, and therapeutic needs.

Diploma Program

Students in our Diploma Program receive instruction in grade level courses that reflect the Next Generation Common Core Standards. The standards are implemented according to the learning rate and learning style of each student across classes. In supporting students’ individual needs and strengths, the four core subject areas are offered as well as elective courses and transition experiences on the campus and in the community.

Students have an opportunity to earn a high school diploma along with a Career Development and Occupational Studies Certificate. The staff-to-student ratio is 3:1 and classes are capped at eight students. In certain situations, students may have 1:1 support. Students enrolled in this program are within the Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 1 and are within the average range of intelligence and approximate grade level skills.
