Summer Break Fun at Shrub Oak International School

Summer break at Shrub Oak International School was filled with activities designed to keep students active, creative, connected, and engaged throughout the break. From on-campus recreation and creative projects to activities and trips off campus, each day brought a new theme and different opportunities for students to enjoy their break together.

The week began with Adventure Day, setting the tone for several days of exploration, discovery, and fun. Students participated in activities centered around adventure and enjoyed opportunities to try something different. Next, students and staff celebrated Breathe and Bloom Day, which focused on relaxation, creativity, and positive energy. Students were encouraged to slow down, take a breath, and enjoy activities that promoted a calm and creative atmosphere.

Later in the week, Move and Groove Day gave students opportunities to get active, enjoy music, and participate in activities centered around movement. Whether through games, recreation, music, or other physical activities, students had opportunities to stay active while having fun with their peers. Staff then shifted the focus toward creativity with Art Attack Day. Students explored different types of art and had opportunities to use their imaginations to create and express themselves.

Around the World Day gave students an opportunity to explore places, cultures, and traditions from around the world without leaving campus, and Stronger Together Day focused on teamwork, friendship, and support, celebrating what makes the Shrub Oak community so special.

Toward the end of break, students engaged with Community Connections Day, emphasizing connection, giving back, and appreciation for the people who make a difference in the lives of others. Students then had the opportunity to participate in Game On! Day, which included friendly competition, challenges, and plenty of opportunities for students to enjoy games together.

The summer break schedule concluded with Summer Finale Festival Day. Students celebrated the end of the summer programming with music, fun, and activities designed to make the final day memorable.

Along with the themed days, the summer schedule included both on-campus activities and planned trips. These experiences provided students with opportunities to participate in recreation, explore new environments, practice skills in the community, and spend time with peers and staff outside of the classroom.

The variety of activities throughout the break reflects the many ways students stay engaged during the summer. From movement and art to games, community connections, exploration, and time outdoors, the busy recreational schedule provides opportunities for students to discover interests, build skills, socialize, and enjoy time together. It was a summer break filled with creativity, activity, and plenty of opportunities to make the most of the season at Shrub Oak International School.
